Personal Mythology
This series started after a reoccuring dream of my great grandmother Marguerite de Téramond, I had had dreams of family members I knew, but never of people I had never met, I found it strange and wondered what it might mean. In an attempt to understand my dream, I did some research on dream symbolism and came across Carl Jung’s theory of “Personal Myth,” which inspired this series.
While I have always been drawn to my French lineage, I hadn’t realized how deeply my family’s story was ingrained into my sense of self and the world. Through these pieces, I hope to explore the legacies of my ancestors and the recurring symbols that have appeared in my family’s past, my dreams, and my everyday life.
